My yard is kind of a jumble honestly. About a quarter of it is rock covered in short wild grasses (I don’t think they’re native) and both native and introduced vegetation such as pines and shrubs. I try to avoid disturbing this area, because I know that bees can nest here (there are some Western Leafcutter bees that nest under my lilac bush). In the middle of the rocky area with native vegetation there is an area carved out of the rock which is the lawn. Amongst the lawn there are flower/vegetable beds scattered throughout. These I disturb pretty often because I have to weed them and take care of my vegetables. On the side of the house there is the main vegetable garden, and in the corners of the yard there is the chicken coop, raspberry bushes and some blackberries. These bloom in the spring and the bumblebees love them.
