Consider increasing the amount of sandy loamy soil. Ground nesting bees often prefer sandy loamy soil as it is easier to dig and drains well. Sandy loam is made up of 10-50% silt or organic matter, 50-75% sand, and less than 20% clay. So if you have 15% sand in your existing soil, you will need to add enough sand to make it at least 50%. If you have 30% clay, you will need to add enough of the sand or compost to bring that percentage down to less than 20%.

I have a vegetable garden with tomatoes, beans, squash, cucumbers, and some greens/herbs. The garden's path space is mostly covered in weeds including purslane, lambsquarter, velvetleaf, amaranth, and grasses. Near the vegetable area is a small pollinator garden with mint, foxglove beardtongue, hyssop, and milkweed. Another flower bed contains peonies, a yellow flower, and more milkweed. Two pine trees grow in the lawn. Underneath them is an area of thick fallen needles where mostly nightshade and thistle grow. The branch pile is there. The rest of the lawn contains a lilac bush, a chokecherry bush, another kind of bush (with a compost pile underneath), a birch, and many feral ash trees. The lawn is mostly grass but dandelion and clover grow freely.
