I currently plant everything in my yard with pollinators and human edibles in mind. This year I do not have sunflowers out but I plan on planting sunflowers next year. I have multiple small beds throughout my yard with small saucers and rocks for polinator watering stations. I also have multiple hummingbird feeders around my yard. When I harvest some of my herbs, such a slavender, I only harvest half the flowers each week leaving the other half for the bees/pollinators. I have asiatic, exotic, and daylilies throughout the yard, several rose bushes which bloom from sring throught until deep frost. I have hummingbird mint, azaleas, sweet williams, rosemary, oregano - which our local bees LOVE - again I harvest half leave half. I think adding sunflowers to the edge of theyard might be a great addition next year.
