
Half of my backyard space is paved over so i use this for container gardening. I add new plants every year, Anything that does not grow well in my space or is not liked by pollinators gets rotated out. I prefer items that have more than one useful quality, like herbs or edibles that pollinators also like.
I have a green strip out front between the sidewalk and the street. there is a lot of shade here an I've been planning to utilize it I go for walks and observe whats being grown in neighboring homes. There is a lot of good pollinator foraging near by. this gives me more ideas of what works in my area.
When i go to the garden center, and observe what plants the bees are attracted to. If the bees are skipping things, then I skip it too. they had all this to choose from and they wanted none of that. That message is loud and clear to me. I've discovered a few plants bees go bonkers for. My favorites
