
Here in NoFla it's hot and humid, perfect for a healthy garden reboot prior to Fall planting. When things get too shaggy, buckwheat, dill and lemon basil seed are spread out over the beds. These grow quicky, crowding out weeds and providing a feast for polinators, then gets tilled under in late August nourishing the soil. Perennial canna, illies, lavendar, coreopsis,peanut,oregano, rosemary, milkweed and salvia share border space with citrus trees, grape, muscadine, fig and blueberrys. Annuals include many varieties of sunflower, cosmos, buckwheat, lemon basil, dill, zinnia, morning glory, flax and amaranth. Vegetables planted interpaced are tomatoes, potatoes, dinosaur kale, collards, carrots, peppers, beans. There is always a clean birdbath shaded with stones placed throughout for easy landing. No pesticides are used!
