We are in the process of removing parts of the lawn, replacing it with native plants. We do not plan to use mulch, but leave the ground bare except for native perennials and buch grass. We have a dozen or so fruit trees (apples, plums, cherries) and a two large raspberry patches. Our front garden has many native established flowering perennials.
