I am converting a 25'x25' lawn area in the backyard into a wildflower and native grass meadow. It is in partial shade. I will burn the grass, add donated rabbit and cow manure to the area and let it rest until spring when I will seed the area. I also have garden area in front of the house that has many native and vegetable plants including lettuce, peppers, blueberries and lots of pine and grass mulch. I currently have on honey bee hive but may make a second one in March 2017.
