
bumblebees were more common earlier in the season. this was an exceptionally dry season. pollination of squash and cucumbers was poor (our hand pollination worked best during July). two carpenter bees began to work squash in August and pollination improved. bumblebees are presently more common than during July, but not so frequent as 2015.
