One acre of coniferous foothill land. 95% unmowed native grasses and wildflowers, all naturally occurring mulch. Vegetable garden 20 x 10 completely mulched. 8 containers vegetables, mulched. Several areas cultivated with mostly native flowers. House deck area averages 45 - 55 pots of annuals each year. Bee yard partially planted with sunflowers, mints, lemon balm, borage amidst native grasses.
Have tried albeit minimally successfully to plant more wildflowers but battling native grasses is daunting. Short Colorado growing season at 7242' is limiting as to number of varieties of plants. Still working on it! Colorado weather at foothills altitude also makes beekeeping a challenge, but a fun one!
