It's a space that is managed only somewhat. We are still trying to find time to create better flower spaces where the clumps are present. As long as there's moisture in the ground, there is a profusion across it of wild flowers. We mow in patches so as not to remove a food source in an entire day. We leave out water for birds and bees and try to find flowers that are especially enjoyed by the pollinators. Since we don't water the "lawn", the wildflowers scale down and disappear in summer. I'm surprised for the month of May and how many we still have.
We leave dead wood in a pile and there are a few snags on the property. There are several disturbed areas that have been left alone.
