Consider increasing the amount of sandy loamy soil. Ground nesting bees often prefer sandy loamy soil as it is easier to dig and drains well. Sandy loam is made up of 10-50% silt or organic matter, 50-75% sand, and less than 20% clay. So if you have 15% sand in your existing soil, you will need to add enough sand to make it at least 50%. If you have 30% clay, you will need to add enough of the sand or compost to bring that percentage down to less than 20%.

I have a flower/herb garden near my house. It has mostly perennials. Roses, day lilies, herbs. This year it has tomatoes where blueberries will be next year. My veggie garden is big (20X100) or so. Mostly annual veggies but also an out of control raspberry patch, asparagus, rhubarb, and strawberries. Also some annual and self sowing flowers and herbs. Bordered with perennial flowers including spring bulbs. Around the yard are flowering bushes, mostly in June. Also flowering fruit trees, in spring. High bush blueberry bushes and medicinal herb patch, perennial herbs. Hops too. Front has a slop with spring flowers and low shrubs. A stand of 16 sugar maple trees.
