As 2021 comes to an end, we are grateful for so many things: the dedication of health care workers and teachers, the work of scientists, and the efforts of so many trying to make the world a better place.

At the Great Sunflower Project, we are proud of our contributions to pollinator conservation and creating more healthy habitats for pollinators. This year, we are also excited to report that our data is now being used to teach students data science. This summer and fall, undergraduate and graduate students learned how to create dynamic maps using our data and to create simple graphs evaluating differences across states. It is exciting to see our work contributing to educating the next generation of conservation leaders

This upcoming year, our major goal is to make our website better for you. We plan to make it easier to enter data and for you to see how your yard has changed over time. To do this, we are working to raise $20,000. We would be grateful for any and all contributions to this effort. You can donate online here or send us a check to the address below.

Thank you so much for your work this year whether it was gardening, advocating or contributing data. We are excited to continue working together to understand pollinators and help to provide the healthy habitats that support them.

Bee Well,
