Thankful for 2018

Dear Folks,

On this giving Tuesday, I wanted to both thank you for all the hard work that you have done for pollinator conservation and ask for support. Together, we've built the largest program in insect conservation in North America. We've identified areas of concern and through the changes you are making in your gardens, created safer and healthier habitats for pollinators.

This year will be our most exciting. We have been invited by the PBS Nature series to be part of one of their episodes this spring. On April 29-May 1, Nature is going to do a live event to investigate how plants and animals respond to the change of season. As part of that, they are going to integrate the Great Sunflower Project into the program and have asked us to share and expand our curriculum so they can pass it on to all the viewers of Nature. There are events planned at PBS stations across the country and the whole thing will be live! Wouldn't it be great if we could reach 200,000 Sunflower gardeners this spring. We'll be in touch about what is happening in your regions to support the programming.

As part of this participation, we are hoping to take the Sunflower Project to a new level. Will you join your fellow pollinator supporters and make a gift to the Great Sunflower Project?

Your gift to the Sunflower Project will go to work immediately — increasing participation, supporting our partnerships with schools and teachers , allowing us to make new discoveries that will advance conservation, providing new information to help gardeners and so much more.

Gifts can be made online through San Francisco State. You simply need to type Great Sunflower into the comment box.

With sincere thanks,

Gretchen
