In 2012, I was invited to visit the Peralta Elementary School in Oakland California. Peralta is a wonderful arts integration school that draws a diverse student body. On that visit, I discovered that the 1st, 2nd and 4th graders at Peralta knew more about bees than some of my graduate students! It was clear to me that we needed to capture what this amazing group of teachers had done. So, with funding from the Panta Rhea foundation, Trena Noval, their arts educator and I are working to put together a curriculum that others can use. This is where we are going to record our story.
