Welcome to Spring 2018!

Let's take a moment to celebrate our native plants and pollinators that we'll see this year!

In sympathy with our Northeastern gardeners who are once again getting snow, I thought I'd send a bright note! Here at the Great Sunflower Project, we are working hard to get ready for Spring. We'll have a newsletter out at the end of the month to share news on sending out seeds and to summarize our current results!

Here in California, spring has sprung. My student, Nevin Cullen, has been taking amazing photos of bees and flowers. I thought I'd share one of his spring photos for inspiration! This is one of our early spring plants, hounds tongue (Cynoglossum grande) being visited by a native bee in the genus Hapropoda. Doesn't it look like a bumble bee!

More soon!
