We are getting our last seeds shipped out. As it is getting late in the year, we are going to ship seeds next spring to anyone new who signs up. If you are already a participant, we'll ask you later this summer if you'd like to participate again. Next year, provided we have funding, we'll get seeds out early!

I'm just signing up
I just found out about this project (Sunset Magazine) but have many sunflowers in my garden. May I still submit data even though it is not your seeds I am growing?

Varieties
Unfortunately I only found out about this a couple of weeks ago. I teach middle school Agriscience in Miami, FL and want to participate as part of my class. What varieties were sent out? I can get them on my own and plant them here. Thanks.
Poor Results
My seeds never germinated and maybe next year I can try them again?

I've given up on germination for this year. Carrots planted at the same time in the same bed are now four inches tall, but no sign of a sunflower.
Seeds Received Won't Germinate
The seed quality of these seed packets (at least mine is) leaves a lot to be desired. I've planted the whole packet and haven't got one seed to germinate yet to date (July 7, 2008). I've seen bees in my backyard though...... hovering around my tomato bushes/plants.
Poor Germination
I purchased the seeds directly from American Meadows, and have had less than 10% germination rate in the last 3 weeks! I was going to replant as I bought a 1/4 lb of seeds.
Is that worthwhile here in Sacramento?
No sprouts
My second pack of seeds did not sprout either...

I got my second pack of seeds and they aren't sprouting either. I water in the morning but in this heat soon the ground dries out. So is it a watering problem or non germination?
Seeds
My seeds have been in the ground for 2 weeks now. Little plants are coming up. I have bee's in other parts of the garden. However, I still have to wait for my little guys to grow.
