These sunflowers were planted by birds from bird seed. The were way up before the seeds from the Sunflower Project arrived so I used the birds' planting. The sunflower garden is planted in the tree lawn along a busy street. We observe from over a lattice fence. The bees appeared to buzz around alot before choosing a flower. We live along the St Joseph River and have many perennial beds, pond & water life. The bees like oregano, cone flowers & bee balm. We have seen bumble bee from early spring. We don't use pesticides and have alot of wildlife eventhough we are in the city.
