The Great Sunflower Project

It is late September and on the central coast of California it is 102 degrees. The heat is strangling my sunflowers. I went out at 3:00 pm to the bird bath and filled it up with cold fresh water. The bees came from everywhere. Before I did that there were no bees on my sunflowers. After they came out to the water---I started seeing them flying around the flowers. I fill that bird bath every day---but this was the most dramatic reaction I've ever seen at the bird bath. I really hope everyone is remembering to keep water for the bees---a bird bath is perfectly shaped for them.
