I am now getting sprouts but don't sunflowers need sun? The spring here in Seattle has been absolutely dismal. There has been about three warm days since March. Sun and 62 degrees would be a heat wave! And because of this I have not seen the usual bee activity in our yard. We have mason bees but I don't know how many have survived/are thriving. So, we may get sunflowers, maybe not. The weather here has been more like November.
I planted mine 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Yesterday I had one sprout with cotyledons. Today, I noticed four little sprouts, and the one from yesterday has a very tiny set of regular leaves. They are only about .5 cm tall, so they are tiny, but they are sprouting.
The pot I planted them in gets about half a day of sun.
