The Great Sunflower Project

I got my seeds yesterday, and I can't wait for my little guys to start sprouting! Do these sunflowers need any supports? Last summer we had a lot of bees (there was at least two bee hives in my backyard near the pool, but unfortunately a hornet nest as well.. Those buggers hurt when they get you.), but I haven't seen that many this year yet, I hope my sunflowers prove otherwise..
