Crushed seeds

I got my seeds in the mail today. When I opened the packet to plant them, over half were crushed into pieces. 5-6 were in good shape and there were about 3-4 more that were questionable but intact. Looked like another 5-6 of debris. I'm not sure if that's the expected contents, but wanted to give you the feedback. Maybe the trip through the mail system and the automatic mail sorters was a little rough on it?

Hopefully the germination rate is better than last year (when I got zero plants) and then it won't matter. :) We'll see soon! Here in florida, lots of things are blooming already and I've seen bees in the area. So can't wait to count something.

last year's seeds

The seeds I received last year also produced zero results, due to the condition of the seeds when they arrived. Have you improved packaging for this year?

Yes, mine were totally

Yes, mine were totally munched. I planted the few (4?) that were intact. We'll see if they germinate. I have also planted a few other varieties, so I will see what I get. The seeds looked like pathetic leftovers from a mouse's nest. I may just buy some of the same variety from a garden store.

Also crushed in GA

Our seeds also arrived with more than half crushed. We got 7 pretty good ones and planted them, so we'll see what happens :)

Mine Also Crushed

We opened our pack of seeds today (4/20) and they were basically pulverized. There might have been one that was whole but it looked like it could have been just a shell. We tried to plant them anyway so we'll see what happens.

We have one sprout (4/27) from our crushed seeds so I guess they're pretty hardy. I do have some sunflower sprouts from my birdseed and some other flowers and veggies as well so hopefully the bees will come.

Note on seeds

Hi to all, I received my seed on the 17th planted them the same day and yesterday (4-21) we have life. I had some concerns as some of my seeds were crushed as well? I do not know why? It could be those seeds where hollow to begin with? But I sorted through and took out all the usable seeds, and "Yes" we have germination--> 6 total. Very fast I might add !! I am a seed harvester myself (from the wild and my garden) seeds are very hardy they may go through a lot and still produce life. So if you have doubt plant them anyway and wait for the magic..

Enjoy & many
buzzing bees to all

I've sent you another pack...

The post offices in Florida seem to be rough on this years mailing... I sent you another pack and wrote fragile on it - let's see if that survives.

4 seedlings today

Thanks. I noticed 4 seedlings showing today, so looking good so far. I don't know how many extra seed packets you have this year, but if you want me to forward the second packet to someone else, I can. Or I'll start planting the second set in a couple months.
