OUr backyard is a super highway of gopher runs. We'd like to get rid of the gophers but not by poisoning or such, any suggestions would be appreciated.
There's a number of products out now for such things. I just bought 2 of them to try out as the rabbits around here are too hungry! One has hot peppers as a main ingredient and the other one has eggs and something else that's not clear. I've used blood meal in the past to get rid of cats who use my garden as a litter box and that seemed to work. There are some products out which contain fox urine or some such material which supposedly acts as a repellent. I used this rabbit repellent stuff last year that had the same active material as mothballs which I could tell by its smell!
I'd get out to some big garden centers or if you live in a rural area, you might consider shopping for it online. There are any number of reliable garden websites.
I know there are sound repellers which broadcast high notes which only they can hear but I question whether they broadcast anything... Mice tend to form dance clubs around those mouse repellers you plug in.
