Southern Illinois - June 2008 - Honeybee?

I have two non-native bushes that the bees love every Summer. I know nothing about bees but want to learn to ID them and welcome them to my yard, along with other bugs.
What type of bee is this one?

That's a honey bee!
What a great picture! You can even see that it has hair on it's eyeballs. Take a look at the guide to sunflower bees and you can see the difference between this bee and a bumble bee or carpenter bee.
