Earth Week Project Tue, 04/08/2008 - 20:19 — Roxie A. DeShane Hi! I am a U of IL Extension, Rock Island County, Master Gardener. I work with a number of schools and was very excited about this project. Not only did I sign up, but I contacted the schools that I work with and so did they. I also talked with our County Director and he agreed to let me order seeds if I could find them and package them for the 1600 school children that go through our Master Gardener booth during Earth Week on April 18. On them will be an attached card with your web-site and directions for planting. It was ironic that our booth this year at the Earth Week celebration is on bees. It is our hope that they will contact you and sign up to help deliver data or if they did not have internet access, they will plant them - giving bees another source of food. I only found one place that carried the right kind of sunflower seed - it is American Meadows at www.americanmeadows.com and they even know how many seeds are in a pound!!
