We have our Lemon Queen Sunflower seeds in stock! Stop by and visit us: Tagawa Gardens in Centennial Colorado!

Planting now?

Is it too late to participate if I am just getting ready to start planting? Our pear trees are already full of flowers and our mandarin orange tree has a ton of buds on it. Is there a cut-off date for the different zones?

other bee counts in my area

10/15/10

If I may, I would like to continue yesterday's comment by saying that:

even though I had to plant very late this year, and had limitations from surgery with complications, I shall never forget that report I was able to make the day I observed 31 bees land on one blossom within 15 minutes------Of, course, partly due to Mother Nature Beeing so kind as to present me with five bees on that blossom when I first sat down to BEE-gin observing!

I am Mighty glad for this year, with dozens of bees in my garden from early spring on most every plant, which was months before I planted my Lemon Queen sunflowers--------now, I can't wait for next year, when I shall again BEE with the BEES!

Love to you, Queen Been Gretchen,
and drip drop to all,

ready set go...

i started my Lemon Queen sunflowers in paper pots a month ago. yesterday we finally had a break from the rain and sunshine. i planted them all out in the garden. now we're looking for more sunshine!

the bees here have been very active in our weed blooms so far this year, even with all the rain. we even had two bumble bees in our greenhouse in our flowering Extra Dwarf Pak Choy.

good luck all!

peace, bunkie.

Lemon Queen Seeds

Found several Home Depot locations are carrying them in Colorado at this time after trying thru the local garden centers and Gurneys online first. Less than $2 and no shipping needed.

Gurney's Lemon Queen

Gurney's isn't listing Lemon Queen in its 2010 catalog.

Pollen Free

I notice some of the varieties of Sun Flowers are pollen free, are these the best choice for the Honey Bee project ?

failure

Sorry but my seedlings were eaten, maybe by earwigs? I do have a lot of bees in my garden in Oakland, especially on my grevillea plant, but I know that's not helpful to your study so I shall wait until next year. I'm not good at growing plants from seed but will try again.

Lemon Queen Sunflowers

I went to my garden store and they were out of the Lemon Queen seeds, but had some live plants in 4" pots. I bought the last three and will plant them in three different large pots and place one on my upper deck, one on my lower deck and one in my bee/butterfly garden. Can't wait to see what happens.

Changed my mind; please send seed

Will send you a check for $5. WB (eldormido)
